Painthorse Trail Cabin is part of The Last Best Place. Located in the Bitterroot River
Valley of western Montana, this rental cabin is your gateway to superb trout fishing, mountain biking, hiking, river rafting,
hunting, climbing, horseback riding and wildlife watching. In late summer and fall we often have 30 to 100 elk on our
property.
Painthorse Trail Cabin sits on 15 acres of old ranch
hay meadows along the Lewis and Clark Trail. Located in the southern end of the Bitterroot River valley between the Sapphire
and Bitterroot mountain ranges, the cabin offers beautiful views in every direction. The vistas at sunrise and the rainbows
after a rainstorm are awesome! Darby, Montana is only one hour south of the Missoula airport, a full-service commercial airport
with major carriers and all rental car agencies.
Got trout? The Bitterroot River is famous for its fantastic flyfishing.
Legendary cutthroat trout! The great dry flyfishing starts in late March and early April and continues through
November. Montana at its best. The cabin is a great gateway and getaway for serious flyfishing and recreation. And the Bitterroot
National Forest is only minutes away with its unlimited opportunities for outdoor adventures and activities. Painthorse
Trail Cabin is the perfect place to unwind, relax and discover all this beautiful area has to offer.
